Who We Are
Chris Hoffmann, the Chef, has been cooking for over 17 years and was trained by the legend of her time Topsi Venter. Chris peeled his first potato and chopped his first onion in this kitchen in Franschhoek.
Chris moved on and worked in various places, including the Shongololo Express - a tourist train that runs from Cape town to Namibia. Then did a long stint at Olymipa Bakery in Kalk Bay, where he found his groove and then opened his own restaurant Café des Arts in Kalk Bay before moving out to Franschhoek.
Louise, the Owner and loving partner to Chris is originally from a farm in Zimbabwe she came to Cape Town to broaden her horizons. After working the film industry for many years, she met Chris in his Kalk Bay 'Café des Arts' as a customer and somehow, somewhere along the line he persuaded her to open a restaurant.
Both Chris & Louise have a very relaxed outlook to life and together they create a dining experience you may never forget!
